Scope of Work

This facility was searching for options to add a curling rink to its existing two-sheet ice arena to fill a void for curling sheets in the area. As part of the project, B32 designed an industrial grad ammonia ice system that not only serves the new 6-sheet curling facility but also serves the original main ice arena. This replaces an aging R-22 direct system. This cost-effective and energy-efficient ice system solution provided the support the owner needed to move forward with the project. The facility opened January 1, 2013 and has exceeded expectations in all categories including performances, efficiency, revenue, new member sign-up, and tournament registrations.

Phase 2 of the project included replacing the main rink floor which had the aging direct R-22 Holmsten Ice Rink System. The goal was to connect the floor system to the new ammonia based system. This project was completed the flowing summer.

Four Season Curling Club is one of only 2 clubs nationwide to stay open year round. It is also an official U.S. Olympic training site along with a national training center for USA Curling.
