Scope of Work

The City of Omaha wanted to incorporate an outdoor skating trail into the landscape of The Riverfront Park.  The City worked with a design team to develop a design of the skating facility and surrounding improvements.  Realizing the special and unique nature and design requirements for this type of facility, the City hired a design-build team, that included B32 Engineering Group, Inc., to design and build the ice skating trail system.   Drawing from its extensive experience with outdoor ice rink facilities, B32 Engineering Group, Inc. designed the ice rink floor system to maximize performance and provide the best ice quality possible based on a refrigeration system that was designed and installed under a separate scope of work.

B32 played a key role is not only the design of the facility, but also provided guidance and oversight throughout the construction process.  The facility was completed in 2023.  The ice rink surface of this facility is approximately 14,835 SF including the skating trail and central “pond” area.
